For the last five years HSS has been working with Tarmac and Flowtech to supply and install a number of Dust Suppression Systems in their DSM and concrete loading plants. The systems are designed built as bespoke units to give the correct level of misting at each level or at the loading and unloading areas of each plant.

From this experience we have now produced our own range of Easi-Mist Dust and Odour suppression systems which are also bespoke units but with the modular design can be easily altered to suit each customers application. With easy to navigate HMI touch control panels and controls the Easi-Mist is adaptable to suit all area and any conditions. Even the most arduous and dusty areas can be easily controlled.

Easi-Mist Dust Suppression Systems are advanced misting systems designed to control airborne dust particles in industrial, construction, mining, and agricultural environments. These systems use fine water mist to weigh down dust, preventing it from becoming airborne while minimizing water usage.
Key Features of Easi-Mist Dust Suppression Systems
- High-Pressure Misting
- Uses specialized nozzles to create micron-sized water droplets (10–50 microns) that bind to dust particles.
- More effective than traditional sprinklers, which waste water and often fail to capture fine dust.
- Applications
- Construction Sites (demolition, excavation, material handling).
- Mining & Quarries (haul roads, crushers, stockpiles).
- Agriculture (grain handling, feedlots, tilling).
- Industrial Facilities (cement plants, recycling centers, warehouses).
- Benefits
- Reduces PM10 & PM2.5 (fine particulate matter) for compliance with air quality regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Saves Water – Uses up to 70% less water than sprinklers.
- No Slippery Residue – Fine mist evaporates quickly, avoiding mud or ice hazards.
- Customizable – Systems can be fixed, mobile, or mounted on equipment.
- Components
- High-pressure pumps (up to 1,000 psi).
- Stainless steel/bronze nozzles (clog-resistant).
- Automated controls (timers, remote sensors).
Easi-Mist vs. Traditional Dust Control
Method | Water Usage | Effectiveness | Maintenance |
---|---|---|---|
Easi-Mist Systems | Low (5–20 GPM) | High (captures fine dust) | Minimal |
Water Trucks | High (50–100 GPM) | Moderate (wettens surface only) | High |
Chemical Suppressants | Varies | Effective but costly/eco-risks | Moderate |
